Apple Blossom
After several weeks of lovely sunny spring weather, we have now moved on to lovely sunny summer weather. No sign of April showers, just sunshine for days on end.
It’s not often we get so many weeks of sunshine here. My inner gardener has started muttering “we need some rain soon”, but I am ignoring it for now. I am enjoying every day in the garden, no doubt the best part of being on sick leave.
The apple trees have decided to start competing with the cherry trees. They are not quite as spectacular as the cherries, but there’s definitely a quiet old fashioned beauty to them.

Apple blossom takes me straight to my childhood home in rural Oxfordshire. I used to climb the apple trees in my parents’ garden and just sit in the branches for hours.
