Joys of Spring

When I was working in the City, whole seasons would rush by and I wouldn’t have had the time to pay much attention to them.

Now that all that rushing around has come to an end, seasons have started taking on extra meaning. Often it is the main thing changing around me, and one that has the biggest impact on my daily routine. Compared to London, here in the country side you feel the weather and the seasons more strongly, as you are completely surrounded by and immersed in them, there are no buildings sheltering you from their force. Also, they are an enormous source of joy to me – particularly as each new season brings new photo opportunities in our garden.

This is our first spring in the country and it is very exciting. Today, Hugh noticed the newly born lambs in a field down the road, and he took me there in the car to see them.
